The Camper’s take
Updated June 2026
Small lake at Viremont surrounded by forest with picnic tables and bins. Road access is tricky: avoid the path through Viremont village (poor condition), use Montadroit route via chemin du Lac instead. Multiple parking spots available. Wooded and peaceful setting, popular with anglers. Major drawback: mosquitoes can be severe at times (especially June), sometimes making stays unbearable.
Highlights
- Tranquil, open forest setting
- Lake views and good fishing
- Diverse birdlife
Good to know
- Road access tricky and poorly signposted by GPS
- Sporadic mosquito invasions, sometimes extreme (June)
Motorhome access : Access tricky. Avoid GPS suggesting an impassable path via Viremont. Take Montadroit, then Lac road (drivable). Last meters may be rough but passable for standard vehicles.
