The Camper’s take
Updated June 2026
High-altitude spot (2250 m) in pristine mountain scenery, spacious and flat beside a stream. Stunning panorama with abundant wildlife (marmots, ibex). Excellent for stargazing and hiking. Popular in summer but large enough to find solitude. Camping-car access possible but terrain challenging after rain. Warning: technically a no-camping zone with regular police enforcement.
Highlights
- Exceptional mountainous landscape offering total escapism
- Rich wildlife (marmots, ibexes, stoats)
- Very wide space allowing privacy despite crowds
- Remarkable starry sky ideal for astronomy
Good to know
- No overnight parking allowed, fines enforced after 9 AM
- Very busy in summer (especially around August 14-15)
- Tricky access in bad weather (mud/rain without 4x4).
- No dry toilets or sanitary services
Motorhome access : Flat terrain accessible to motorhomes, easy maneuvering except after rain (risk of getting stuck without 4x4). Large motorhomes (7+ m) confirmed possible.
