The Camper’s take
Updated June 2026
Small picnic area beside a stream, 3 km from Les Saisies ski station. Tables, bins and dry toilets available. Multiple hiking trail starts including Alpelieres (protected wetland site). Quiet at night despite proximity to road. Muddy terrain after rain. Busy during day but peaceful in evening. Strict respect of protected area required.
Highlights
- Exceptional natural setting by the peat bogs and stream
- Lots of nearby hiking trailheads
- Quiet road, guaranteed peace at night
- Shade by late morning
Good to know
- Muddy after rain, difficult access
- Busy during the day, disturbances possible
- Dry toilets often overcrowded and unhygienic
- Fragile area: strict rules required (stay on trails, dispose of toilet paper properly)
Motorhome access : Access possible but muddy terrain with ruts at the entrance. Tricky maneuvering; a few level pitches for medium-sized motorhomes. Avoid after rain.
