The Camper’s take
Updated June 2026
Riverside picnic area with natural shaded scenery and soothing atmosphere. Access via A20 exit 39 recommended (village centre approach very narrow and steep). Two small bridges restrict access to smaller/mid-size vehicles. Possible hikes to Roman ruins nearby. Peaceful setting under trees with flowing water sounds, though motorway and train noise audible. Picnic tables and bins provided.
Highlights
- Very relaxing natural setting by the river
- Easy access from the motorway (exit 39).
- Maintained by the local council with tables and bins
- Hiking trails leading to archaeological sites
Good to know
- Narrow passages at two small bridges (height/width restrictions)
- Highway and train noise audible despite the greenery
- Avoid the tricky access route (village centre too narrow)
- Notable nighttime activity reducing peace and quiet
Motorhome access : Very narrow access through the village center to be avoided at all costs. Take the route via A20 exit no. 39, then secondary roads. Two narrow bridges: passage confirmed up to 7.3 m long but extremely limited width. Tricky maneuvering; only small to medium vehicles.
