The Camper’s take
Updated June 2026
Free camping-car parking at 750 m altitude near Trois-Épis. Spacious, flat lot in quiet forest setting, excellent for hiking. Bakery 100 m away. Token-operated facilities (showers, WC, water) frequently out of service or seasonally closed. Dump station poorly designed. Peaceful atmosphere appreciated, charming but somewhat neglected village.
Highlights
- Exceptional peace in a stunning forest setting
- Spacious and well-maintained parking, no chocks needed
- Excellent bakery and water point very close by
- Hiking and stunning landscapes (Vogesen, Galtz)
Good to know
- Water, showers, and toilets very often out of order or seasonally closed (Nov–Apr)
- Dumping station inaccessible or impractical for standard campervans
- Water prices were deemed excessive (6€ for 100L); token system not always reliable
Motorhome access : Flat parking area well-maintained with easy entry. Service point inconvenient; emptying difficult for standard motorhomes.
