The Camper’s take
Updated June 2026
Free gravel parking 800 m upstream from Cascade du Hérisson waterfall, ideal hiking trailhead. Toilets and water point available. Wooden crafts shop, restaurants and cheese dairy nearby. Busy during the day, quiet at night. Overnight parking officially prohibited but tolerated in practice. Steep and tight terrain, unsuitable for large motorhomes.
Highlights
- Free access to toilets and drinking water
- Excellent starting point for waterfall hikes
- Quiet at night with few remaining campervans
- Close to local shops (woodworking, restaurants)
Good to know
- Overnight parking officially banned, legal ambiguity
- Gravel terrain with a triple slope, difficult access for long motorhomes (7 m+).
- Very crowded during the day, chaotic parking.
- Facilities closed in winter (due to freezing) and toilets barely usable for waste disposal
Motorhome access : Tricky. Gravel terrain with multiple slopes and grass. Narrow entrance. Difficult for motorhomes over 7 m. Discouraged by several users.
