The Camper’s take
Updated June 2026
Small hairpin-turn parking area just outside the Mercantour National Park boundary on the D2205 road. Quiet at night despite roadside location (traffic stops around 8 pm). Nearly flat terrain, spacious for multiple vehicles. Picnic table and river nearby. Excellent trailhead for hikes to Col de la Cayolle. No services. Very calm in low season, potentially busier in peak summer.
