The Camper’s take
Updated June 2026
Small, quiet forest parking lot beside a low-traffic road, 5 minutes from Vulcania. Flat, passable ground even when wet. One-night bivouac tolerated (8pm–8am) under strict conditions: no levelling, furniture, awnings, or fires. Access slightly set back from road. Peaceful spot for hiking, but requires discipline and environmental respect.
Highlights
- Very quiet and discreet behind the big pine tree
- Flat and passable terrain even in the rain.
- Close to hiking trails in the Chaîne des Puys and Vulcania
- Not much road traffic
Good to know
- Cleanliness has declined: toilet paper scattered repeatedly
- Risk of overcrowding during the day (max 2-3 spots)
- Potential noise disturbances from Vulcania (music, fireworks)
- Access via a gentle downhill slope, tricky maneuvering for long vehicles
Motorhome access : Slightly set back from the road with a downhill slope; caution advised for long/heavy vehicles. Flat once parked. Suitable in rainy weather.
