Parking bien plat avec de la place, mais bien fréquenté en ce début août. Vue magnifique sur le lac. Nombreuses marmottes autour de l'emplacement... gardez vos chien en laisse !

The Camper’s take
Updated June 2026
Free mountain parking at 2000m elevation beside Mont-Cenis lake, adjacent to the dam. Flat gravel surface, 15-20 spaces. Access via narrow gravel track (correct route critical to identify). Stunning lake and mountain views. Excellent hiking base. Very busy in season and weekends, particularly Italian visitors. No services; windy exposure.
Highlights
- Stunning lake views and mountains
- Great starting point for hikes and cycling
- Free parking, flat and well-maintained terrain
- Generally quiet at night despite daytime crowds
Good to know
- Busy in peak season/weekends, hard to find a spot late
- Access via a narrow dirt track requiring caution and good navigation skills
- No services (no bins, water, or electricity)
- Frequent winds and cold weather (bring warm clothes); spotty phone signal
Motorhome access : Dirt road is narrow and tricky, passable for standard-sized campervans at low speed if using the correct access (must identify the route correctly from the start). Flat and well-maintained terrain once arrived.
