The Camper’s take
Updated June 2026
Charming small port on the Gironde estuary, 4 km north of Blaye. Parking with 5-6 spaces, picnic table, bin, and river views. Easy access via D137 with simple turnaround. Quiet natural setting with locks, reeds, wooden piers. Main drawback: nearby dog breeding facility causing frequent nighttime barking. Site cleanliness inconsistent.
Highlights
- Panoramic view over the estuary and the Gironde
- Peaceful and unspoiled natural setting
- Easy access, simple maneuvering for motorhomes
Good to know
- Constant barking from an adjacent kennel (recurring issue)
- Uneven cleanliness of the site, litter and visual pollution
- Few services (no water, electricity, or supplies)
Motorhome access : Very easy: tarmac road, spacious parking lot, possible U-turn, no posted restrictions.
