The Camper’s take
Updated June 2026
Mountain-adjacent CAMPING-CAR PARK area (500 m from town center). Panoramic views over Tarn hills, lakes nearby, municipal pool adjacent. Village with Wednesday market, bakery, shops. Since becoming a paid facility (€14/night), major loss of regular visitors. Access via steep, gravel-rutted climb: challenging for larger vehicles. Quiet setting but controversial transition.
Highlights
- Very calm and secure atmosphere
- Close to the lake, village pool, and shops
- Well-regarded artisan bakery
Good to know
- Difficult access: steep climb with gravel and potholes.
- Some consider the rate too high (14€) for the services provided
- Long-time regulars very disappointed
Motorhome access : Very steep access climb with loose gravel and deep ruts. Difficult or impossible for campervans over 7.50 m or with trailers. Maneuvering is tricky; risk of skidding and damage (exhaust). Take it slowly.
